What We Believe
We believe that sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam, the representative head of humanity. Through his rebellion, sin and death entered God’s good creation, and its effects have extended to every person. As descendants of Adam, all people are born with a sinful nature, stand guilty before a holy God, and are separated from Him apart from His saving grace.
Because of the Fall, every aspect of human nature has been corrupted by sin. Humanity is spiritually dead, unable to restore itself to a right relationship with God or earn His favor through human effort or personal righteousness. Sin brings spiritual death, brokenness, physical death, and the certainty of God’s righteous judgment. Left to ourselves, there is no hope of salvation. Only through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ can sinners be forgiven, reconciled to God, and restored to fellowship with Him.
