A Life Prepared by God’s Grace
Every ministry has a story. Mine is a testimony to God’s grace over many years of preparation.
My journey with Jesus Christ began on July 19, 1982, when, at the age of thirteen, I placed my faith in Him as my Lord and Savior. Looking back, I can clearly see that the Lord was preparing me for this ministry long before I ever imagined it would exist. Through every season of life, He has deepened my love for His Word and faithfully prepared me for the ministry He would one day entrust to me.

One of the most significant milestones in that journey was attending Columbia International University (formerly Columbia Bible College). It was there that I developed a lifelong passion for accurately handling God’s Word and learned to study Scripture according to its historical, grammatical, literary, and theological context. During my studies, I also had the privilege of learning Greek exegesis under Dr. Richard P. Belcher, whose faithful teaching and booklet Doing Biblical Exegesis continue to influence my approach to biblical study and teaching today.
Those years not only shaped my understanding of Scripture but also laid the theological foundation upon which Two-Edged Sword Ministries is built.
Prepared Through Ministry
Over the years, God has graciously prepared me through theological education, preaching and teaching in local churches, teaching in Christian schools, homeschooling our children, leading Chapel services, serving in children’s ministry, coaching, college instruction, academic advising, and curriculum development.
Looking back, I no longer see them as separate chapters of life but as God’s gracious preparation for the ministry He would eventually entrust to me.
The Birth of Two-Edged Sword Ministries
The greatest privilege of my life has never been the positions I have held, but the opportunity to help others know God through His Word. That simple conviction continues to shape everything I write, teach, and develop through Two-Edged Sword Ministries. Two-Edged Sword Ministries is the natural outgrowth of that lifelong journey. After years of ministry, I sensed the Lord leading me to create a ministry that could equip believers around the world through biblically faithful teaching resources rooted in God’s Word.
A Life Supported by My Wife
None of this would be possible without the faithful encouragement and support of my wife, Elizabeth, who has stood beside me throughout every season of ministry. Together, we share a desire to see believers—and especially the next generation—develop a deep love for God’s Word and a lifelong commitment to faithfully following Jesus Christ.
Together, we have been blessed with four children, and our years of homeschooling and family ministry have profoundly shaped the vision of Two-Edged Sword Ministries.

My hope is that, as you explore these resources, your attention will not remain on the founder but on the One who graciously prepared him. My prayer is that God will use this ministry, according to His sovereign will, to strengthen His people, and to bring glory to His name.
